Kenney's Pest Control

The Common House Mouse  is light gray to brown and prefers to search for food or shelter at night.  They map out small territories and can adapt themselves to any environment.  Mice carry diseases, contaminate food and can even start fires by chewing on electrical wires.

Deer Mice are primarily found in rural areas.  They get into homes, sheds and garages near wooded areas.  Their bi-colored fur makes them easy to distinguish from other mice.  Deer mice are of particular concern because they can be carriers of hantavirus which causes hantavirus pulmonary syndrome.

Meadow Voles, also called meadow mice, have short stubby tails.  They live under the snow during winter and feed on the grass.  Then when the snow melts in spring, their damage appears as "runways" chewed in the lawn.  In most cases the damage is not permanent and voles usually leave after the snow melts.
