Kenney's Pest Control

American Cockroaches are the largest roaches in the USA and some can get to be whoppers!  Adults usually range from 1½" to 1¾" in length but some can exceed 2 inches long!  American Cockroaches primarily infest commercial properties but they're no stranger to homes, particularly in the south where they're often referred to as "Palmetto Bugs".  Both male and female American Roaches are dark reddish-brown with a pale yellow stripe on their wing tips.

Brown-Banded roaches tend to prefer higher locations like ceilings/moldings and behind picture frames; however, they will also hide in appliance motors, light switches, bedroom dressers and in other furniture.  As their population increases, these roaches can be found throughout a structure much like their German counterparts.  Brown-banded roaches are about ½ inch long, light-brown to tanish-brown in color, and their characteristic pale brown bands (across wings) make them relatively easy to distinguish from German roaches
